In short

Every asset in the fleet measured on the same basis, ranked by the gap between what it should produce and what it does, with a capex model that puts every fix in payback order and a repowering case where one exists.

  • Every site measured on the same basis
  • A league table of performance in kWh and in money
  • A capex model ranking every remediation by payback
  • A repowering case for the assets that justify one
  • O&M contracts and warranties that need action

A portfolio of operating solar assets is rarely uniformly good or uniformly bad. It is a spread: a few sites quietly outperforming, a long middle, and a handful that have been absorbing capex and attention for years without anyone establishing why. A portfolio review establishes where each asset actually sits, on the same basis, so that money and management time go where they return most.

What it involves

One method, every asset. Performance reconciliation, string and inverter-level analysis, degradation, inverter fleet position and O&M performance, applied consistently across the portfolio so that sites can be compared rather than merely described.

A league table. Every asset ranked on measured performance against a rebuilt expectation, with the gap expressed in annual yield and in money. This is the page that gets read at the investment committee.

A capex prioritisation model. Every identified remediation, its cost, its yield recovery and its payback, across the whole portfolio, so the capex round is built on evidence rather than on which asset manager argued hardest.

A repowering case where it exists. For the assets whose inverter fleets, module degradation or grid position justify it: what repowering would cost, what it would yield, and what it does to the asset’s remaining life and value.

Contract and warranty position. Which O&M contracts are being delivered, which are not, and which warranty claims are available and time-limited.

What the client receives

A portfolio report, an asset-by-asset appendix, the capex model as a working spreadsheet, and a presentation of the findings to the investment committee, the board or the lender. Portfolio reviews are usually bought ahead of a refinancing, a sale process, or a fund-level capex round, and are scoped to that timetable.

Scale and fee

Typically eight to forty assets. Smaller portfolios are usually better served by individual Asset Health Checks; larger ones are scoped in phases. The fee is quoted in writing against the asset count, the data available and the timetable, and held once agreed.

Tell us what you are trying to decide

Most engagements start with a short call about the asset, the transaction or the dispute, and the timetable. We will tell you what we would do, what it would cost, and whether you need us at all.
